flofilz hat sich in den letzten zwei jahren in die erste liga der europäischen beat-produzenten gespielt. mit seinem entspannt jazzigen sound kriegt er sie alle: seine 46.000 (!) soundcloud-fans genauso wie die beatgeeks in berlin, die rapkids beim splash und den boiler room in london. mit “cenário” setzt flofilz nun seine musikalische städtereise fort, die 2014 mit “metronom” in paris begann. für sein neues album ist er in begleitung von fotograf robert winter nach lissabon gereist. die eindrücke dieser reise hat flofilz in 16 neue tracks umgesetzt, bei zwei songs wird er dabei von der jazz-sängerin oliva wendlandt (relaén) begleitet.

undo (gabriel berlanga) introduces his third album disconnect, with ten songs written, recorded and produced during 2015 and 2016. on disconnect undo blends different influences using both new and old analogue gear combined with digital plug-ins and fx to create his own recognizable sound after more than 10 years on the road. opening track “disconnect” finds undo playing with psychedelic synths and singing shyly. we also hear vocals but in a very diferent mood onthe funny, funky and sexy “computer friends” and on “autómatas”, an electro cut that demands a reaction against the established injustice. there are vocals as well on the last track of the album, this time with an epic vocoder because at the end “we’ve got to fight”. djs will likely gravitate toward the unstoppable trance synth of “the arptist”, the chug-techno tension on “acid prophet”, the shuffled beats and endless harmony of “setembre” and the dreamy melodies of “interferencias” and “sunmachine”.

spring theory alumni sage caswell returns to the san francisco-based label to deliver his debut album hoop earring. it s an enigmatic record that comes from the producer s own movement through personal transformation. it follows 2015’s sleep quarters , caswell s introspective label debut, and offers 10 tracks spread out across two 12-s. hoop earring is heavily informed by surrealist visions and archetypal images from caswell’s past that have crystallized within the context of this longplay album. hoop earring successfully paints images with broad brushstrokes and allegorical song titles that allows one to fill in fine details of a landscape built within the framework ten songs. “ray of light 95’” alludes to a moment in time that smartly places you alongside an adolescent caswell while songs like “here we guard upon the soul” land locks squarely in the middle with a poignant, nail-on-the-head statement. -zora scales (step 1)- provides a focal reference to the fantasy world that this album might be the soundtrack to.

antlers mulm has been sending his melancholy songs and soundscapes into the world for many years now… some years ago one song was featured on the “radio resistencia” compilation (et001) and finally there is this 7 inch on enfant terrible… the two tracks are coming from the last album “touring the moon bog” which was released on cd and tape earlier this year… both tunes featured on vinyl here are the most up-tempo and rhythm driven ones from that album… recommended to fans of solitude fx but also those who are into new order… it is all melancholy, dreamy and catchy… what else could you wish for?

these songs were made over the past 2 and a half years by uchi: luna (january 2016), was named after a talking cat. it s kind of a sad story. you will find some synth sounds, three different kick drums, and a couple hi-hats. it s kind of moody. you can take it as it is, or not. pride is poison (july 2014) ironically, it s titled after experiencing dosages of unhealthy relationships, though it might be the one people like the most. it s sad-ish, noisy, bouncie, and bassie? that about sums it up. inc (february 2016) is titled after the international noise conference, where it was recorded. actually it s a 3 part spliced zoom room recording of a 25min long improvisation, made in a punk bar. the argument here holds, is it really worth it to make perfect music? where is the concept of -live- in techno anyways? it doesn t matter. it s just a semi-distorted recording of a moment that meant nothing to almost no one, and yet it lives.

nice price deal !!! the freihafen ep shows the inimitably techno producing of georg lange as dj argon. the modulated drums and baselines are always strong and raspy. all the songs are funky someway, primarily created with analogue equipment, populated with strident synthie sounds. it s not possible to call a genre, is somewhere between deep techno, dub and atmospheric minimal house. lets call it >argons music<- cheery, unique and coltish deep.

brand new, rambunctious, rootsy, spiritual brass-band music from lagos, with singing, drums and home-made percussion. obadikah is a group of old friends who play together in the cherubim & seraphim and baptist churches of the ikeja and isale eko districts. a couple of them were founder-members of the eko brass band, they’ve played with pretty much all the key nigerian reggae artists. the tunes are mostly traditional yoruban melodies, often sung at bed-time. the songs are mostly original, sung in yoruba (though jomido is an egun song from the badagry area of lagos state).

* after almost 20 years of making tracks with blaringly loud kicks, you tend to start producing with the other elements first to give yourself a break from the constant pounding of monitors at point blank range. following an analog filter shopping spree, i began working on a group of tracks where the low end was satisfied by the filtering, and realized these songs worked just fine without a bass drum. therefore this record is called “rareforms” since most of my other work consists of a kick drum and lots of loud effects. this record is dedicated to the brilliant synthesist and interpreter isao tomita, whose records always provide inspiration in the lab. also to master storyteller rod serling and his frequent collaborator bernard hermann, whose score for the hitchcock film vertigo i adapted through some midi processes and wavetable synthesis, then sent it through a 4-foot spring reverb.* - phil moffa

das album -100%- war längere zeit nicht zu haben. weder auf cd noch digital. die songs sind neu gemastert. die songs sind dieselben, es gibt keine neuen songs oder sonstiges bonusmaterial, einzig beim sound wird man ein paar unterschiede feststellen. den remastering-prozess hat eike freese gemacht. eike freese hat in den letzten 15 jahren an mehr als 170 veröffentlichungen mitgewirkt, darunter auch an alben und dvds von deep purple, saga, apocalyptica, gamma ray, eisbrecher, oomph!, heaven shall burn, callejon, uvm. für seine arbeiten an deep purples -now what?!- the live tapes- und eisbrechers -die hölle muss warten- wurde eike freese mit jeweils einer goldenen schallplatte ausgezeichnet. außerdem wird er mitverantwortlich für das kommende album sein. aber dazu mehr zu seiner zeit. das gesamte artwork wurde überarbeitet. die band ist immer wieder ergriffen über das, was die fans zurückgeben. deep techno that nods to mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. we obviously receive a lot of demos at crowdspacer, and we can t listen to them all, one detail has to catch our attention. it can be how you present yourself, a weird artwork, or like here, a name, aqua matrix. i wanted to check what aqua matrix was about. and what a surprise to hear such amazingly produced deep techno that brought me back to my love for mid 90s detroit techno, carl craigs more songs about food and revolutionary art, kenny larkin s dark comedy, reese. this is aqua matrix first ep. he s from portugal and i can t wait to hear what he comes up with next.

it all began with a licensing inquiry for a sister funk cut which we wanted to include on our deep funk comp titled “feeling nice vol. 3”. after the deal was completed producer fred forsh mentioned that the backing band of nadine brown’s masterpiece “leave me alone” had released a 45 themselves under their name teakwood. after mr. forsh played us both sides we knew that this 45 would have to be re-issued. what was about to follow nobody of us ever expected. mr. forsh told us that teakwood recorded almost a dozen of songs which were supposed to be released on a full length album. for unspecified reasons the album was never released and it remained in the can for almost 40 years. finally, we are very proud to announce the release of teakwood’s debut album “a distant star” in early 2017. until then you have to be content with this 45 rpm single re-issue.

fritz kalkbrenner ist zurück. mit »grand départ« veröffentlicht der sänger, komponist, dj und produzent 2016 den nachfolger zu seinem top-10-album »ways over water« von 2014. mehrere monate schrieb er an den songs, die er anschließend zusammen mit verschiedenen musikern in seinem berliner studio aufnahm. herausgekommen sind insgesamt 13 songs, mit denen er die richtung fortsetzt, die er bereits auf seinem vorgänger einschlug: chillige, soulige housebeats in kombination mit aufwendigen arrangements – von der gitarre bis hin zu streichern. nicht zu vergessen: die gesangsparts von kalkbrenner selbst.

featuring over 30 minutes of music recorded between 1973-75 found on tapes in maurice tanis attic. all songs have been remastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios. the jacket features an alluring photo of candida seductively sprawled with a broken virgin mary statue around her head, originally commissioned by jorge socarras for an indoor life single, and shot by arne svenson. each copy includes a 16-page booklet with never seen-before photos, interviews and liner notes from patrick and candida’s friends, roommates and musical collaborators.

the album was written, produced, and distributed in garys hometown baltimore, between 1986 and 1987. after a break from performing while getting belated college degrees, gary returned to performing in the early 21st century, back to the singer/songwriter style of his past. gary feels that the generic art ensemble/original soundtrack days gave him an ability to open up his writing. his recent albums feature guitar, but many songs do have keyboards added to give them a fuller, less folky sound.
